At a young age, Paul and Jamie followed Jesus and committed their hearts and lives to Him.  They were both active in their respective churches when they crossed paths during their teenage years while serving on staff for two summers at Windermere Baptist Assembly.  They were married in 1986.

In the early 1990s, God called them both to minister while attending Life Christian Center. Paul and Jamie started Clean Heart Recovery, a ministry to those addicted to pornography and support for their spouses.  With this call from God to minister to hurting people, they established Hole in the Roof Ministries in 1996 and began holding the renamed Pure Life Recovery out of their home.  In 1999, they changed gears and launched an inner city church plant renamed Hole in the Roof Ministry Center. After a short time, they soon found themselves in a lawsuit with the City of St. Louis over zoning laws. Unable to open their church location, Paul and Jamie did whatever they could to share the love of Jesus. They launched a sidewalk Sunday school for kids in the nearby housing projects, washed windows for the local businesses in their neighborhood, and used their home to hold weekly church meetings.  Though they won the lawsuit against the City of St. Louis in Federal court, they lost their original church location.

From 2000 to 2010, Paul and Jamie pastored Hole in the Roof Ministry Center in various locations. They also ran a food outreach ministry, Bread of Life Outreach, till a lack of funding forced their closing. After a three-year sabbatical, Jamie and Paul launched a faith-based sports ministry called Gateway City Aquatic Club in 2013.  They coached and mentored many children and teens through the ministry’s USA swim team affiliation.  Unfortunately, the sports ministry closed during the pandemic.  After being sidelined for a season, they have relaunched Hole in the Roof Ministries.

Paul and Jamie have faced many obstacles and trials through the years, both individually and together, including:

      • Paul’s continuing struggle with a mental illness (not diagnosed until 2001.)

      • Jamie holding the family together and raising the children during those years.

      • Financial struggle and homelessness

      • Teenage pregnancy

      • Dealing with the death of two children and the loss of parents

Despite all the challenges in their life, Jesus has been a constant source of comfort and faithfulness to them.   They continue their mission to “Lower the hurting to the feet of Jesus while sharing about God’s Faithfulness.”

Paul and Jamie Hamilton are licensed and ordained through the Assemblies of God International Fellowship. They believe that God has qualified them to minister through the power of the Holy Spirit, through the equipping of God’s Word, and from lessons learned through life’s journey.

They reside in St. Louis, Missouri, and have five children and six grandchildren.
